The inspector may state that he/she has an “engineer’s license” or a related skill. This DOES NOT necessarily mean they are accredited or possess an “INSPECTOR’S LISCENSE”. BE CAREFUL BEFORE HIRING! Please be sure that the individual or company is licensed through the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC), Federal Housing Authority (FHA), Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) and that they abide by Texas Real Estate Code of Ethics, and the Texas Real Estate Commission Standards of Practice. If you feel that the individual or company cannot comply with TREC Rules and Regulations, DSHS Rules and Regulations, and/or they cannot meet your needs/standards, look for another inspector or company.
